How AI object removal works — and how to get cleaner results

Object removal has two jobs: find the thing you described, then rebuild what was behind it. Modern models do both from a text prompt, with no brush or manual mask.

Be specific. “The man in the blue jacket” beats “person” when there are several people. “The red car on the left” beats “car”. If the first attempt takes out too much or too little, refine the wording and run it again.

Shadows give an edit away, so good removal takes them too. The Object Remove tool enables shadow removal by default.

The harder the background, the harder the fill: plain walls, sky and grass are easy; repeating patterns, text and faces are difficult. When a result looks off, undo from the version history and try a tighter prompt or a different crop.

Always keep your original. Removal is non-destructive, and you can compare the result against the source at any time.
